2992729 - Activation and Transportation error of SERV/MAT materials due to fine-tuned settings

When deploying Professional Services Intercompany scenarios (scope item 16T and 4AN) via scope item activation, any fine-tuning to SAP default settings of Professional Services materials could cause material master data activation errors or/and transportation issues. Based on different system landscapes, the activation error and transportation issue can occur in the below scenarios:

Two Systems Landscape (2SL)

• There would be Quality system material master data activation errors if the settings are fine-tuned before initial activation in the Quality system.
• There would be Production system transportation errors if the settings are fine-tuned after initial activation in the Quality system.

Three Systems Landscape (3SL)

• There would be Development system material master data activation errors if the settings are fine-tuned before initial activation in the Development system.
• There would be Test and Production systems transportation errors if the settings are fine-tuned after initial activation in the Development system.

• SAP S/4HANA Cloud
• Master Data

For Professional Services intercompany scenarios, SAP provides Material Master Data with pre-defined material IDs that can only be created if all the configuration settings are SAP default settings. The pre-defined materials and corresponding material types are listed below:

Please never change above mentioned SAP default settings in the system via corresponding Self-Service Configuration UIs before the activation of Professional Services materials has been done in the Quality system (2SL) or Development system (3SL) and transported to the Production system (2SL) or Test and Production system (3SL) successfully.

Any change would prevent the system from creating SAP pre-defined materials. Once the transportation process is done, the default settings can be fine-tuned as needed.
