2993676 - 500 SAP Internal Server Error When Uploading Files In Mass Data Maintenance

You are trying to upload a file in Mass Data Maintenance, but the upload fails with error: 500 SAP Internal Server Error.

1. Go to the Mass Data Maintenance work center.
2. Click the link Import ABC (where ABC is the relevant business object for this operation).
3. Upload the relevant CSV file.
4. Error occurs.

Special characters like comma, question mark, period etc. may have been used in the upload file.

• As the system identifies some of these characters as separators in a CSV (comma-separated values) file, this might cause the file to "break" into a wrong format, which leads to the mentioned technical exception.
• Or, for example, quotes are maintained as text qualifier during upload and quotes are also used in the file data  (for example in description fields). But the text qualifier which is selected during the upload cannot be part of the data being imported.

Review the CSV file for values in incorrect formatting and correct the file.
