2995588 - Incorrect Month Calendar Year on Sales Order Volume Report

Symptom

When you run the report the month is, e.g., September but the report show orders created on October.

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the Sales Orders work center.
  2. Select the Reports view.
  3. Search for the Report: Sales Orders Volume.
  4. Open this Report.
  5. Filter the Report by Month/Calendar Year e.g. September and year 2020.

Cause

It occurs due to difference in timestamp, as the data is stored in UTC, which would be 30th September 2020 16:00:00, for example, when converted from UTC + 8 for the referred Report.

The value for Month/Calendar Year field, from underlying data source, is stored based on the UTC timestamp, if no customer specific Business Configuration is maintained, as all the period information in CRM Application area are, in general, stored in UTC.

Resolution

This is an expected behavior.

Maintain a specific time zone. If you work in one time zone different from the one maintained in the configuration, it could lead to issues, specially if the users work in multiple time zones.
