Symptom

  • A database or transaction log dump fails
  • With messages including " 'fork' call failed " in the Backup Server log:

Backup Server: 4.141.2.62: [0] The 'fork' call failed for database/archive device while working on stripe device '/path/db.dmp'
with error number 11 (Resource temporarily unavailable). Refer to your operating system documentation for further details.
Backup Server: 4.43.2.1: Couldn't create multibuffering subprocess.
