2998886 - "HANA Database Installation Error: 'hdbnsutil' Unable to Load Shared Libraries"

Symptom

During the HANA database installation, the process fails with an error similar to the one shown below in the hdbinst.log:

INFO: Starting external program /usr/sap/<sid>/HDB<num>/exe/hdbnsutil
INFO: Command line is: /usr/sap/<sid>/HDB<num>/exe/hdbnsutil -createSecureStore
INFO: Output line 1: /usr/sap/<sid>/HDB<num>/exe/hdbnsutil: error while loading shared libraries: libltdl.so.7: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
INFO: Program terminated with exit code 127
INFO: Switching back to root user.
ERR : /usr/sap/<sid>/HDB<num>/exe/hdbnsutil call failed [rc = 127]
