SAP Service Cloud

Reproducing the Issue

Prerequisite: you have maintained Postal Code settings in Business Configuration.

  1. Go to the Service work centre.
  2. Go to the Tickets view.
  3. Open ticket ABC (ABC represents the ticket ID).
  4. Click Edit.
  5. Add incorrect value in the Postal Code field (for example, if expected Postal Code is 5 characters, include 4 characters only).
  6. Click Save.
  7. Error message is displayed: "Postal code has to be 5 digits" along a success message that ticket was saved.

Note: another error message in this scenario can display: "Postal code Y should contain numbers only".

In most cases, tickets can be saved with errors (inconsistent).

Error message in this case acts as information to user to provide correct value and can be changed afterwards.
