2999553 - Duplicating job requisitions throwing an error: "Due date entered occurs in the past" - Recruiting Management

Symptom

When trying to duplicate a job requisition, get an error message: "Copy not complete. There was an error while copying the job requisition. Warning: Due date entered occurs in the past".

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Recruiting
  2. Find the job requisition you wish to duplicate
  3. Hover over the title, and click on Duplicate Job Requisition
  4. See that there will be an entry to enter the Title and the Due Date, notice that the Due Date is in the past
  5. Get the error, job requisition is not created

Cause

The Due Date field is entered with the original job requisition's Due Date as all the fields when you are duplicating a job requisition are copied over. Since b2011 release, there is a validation against the Due Date selected. If the Due Date is not changed to a future date, the system will not copy the job requisition and will display the message.

Resolution

This is a system expected behavior after b2011 release. That happens because a new job requisition is being created, so the calculations of Time to Fill, Age of requisition, etc. will not be accurate and will impact reporting when the Due Date is incorrect.

To be able to create job requisitions without this error message, it's a requirement to update the Due Date to a future date.
