Symptom
- You have created a Business Rule to Synchronize the Work Order Changes to Contingent Worker (CW) Job Information.
- While Making changes to Start Date and End Date of the Work Order, this rule does not trigger changes to Job Information.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to Contingent Worker Profile
- Navigate to Take Action -> Edit Work Order
- Change the Start Date and End Date of the Work Order.
- Rule to synchronize the changes does not trigger and changes are not updated in the Job Information
Cause
- Work Order Start Date and End Date are two important fields for Contingent Workers. Changing these dates values will sync automatically via hard coded mapping to the Job Information
- Due to above hard coded sync mapping, when the Start Date and End date of the Work Order is changed, the rule created to synchronize the changes does not work.
Resolution
- The sync between start date and end date from Work Order to corresponding effective start date of SCWK (Start Contingent Worker) event record and ECWK(End Contingent Worker) event record of Job Info works well ( out of the box ) without business rule.
- Syncing new end date of work order after edit to termination date and effective start date of ECWK event record in Job Info happens automatically via system – it does not rely on any business rule.
- The sync via business rule between end date of Work Order object and contract end date field of Job Info entity does not work. This is the expected behavior.
