3000204 - timeslice error, process infected in ibm_get_lock() with orphan locked spinlock - SAP ASE 16.0

Symptom

  • Multiple ASE tasks got time slice error with stack traces.
  • In ASE log, timeslice errors are reported along with the "orphan locked spinlock" messages like following:
     
    kernel  Spid 814 exhausted its 'time slice' of 100 milliseconds and additional 'cpu grace time' of 50000 milliseconds. Resetting 'time slice' for 1 (out of 3) time(s) as Adaptive Server has recorded excessive page fault. Page fault pattern: 0x1.
    kernel  timeslice -505, current process infected at 102730cf8 (ibm_get_lock.fdpr.chunk.1+0x6c)
    kernel  Spinlock default data cache at address 00000001617c0860 is an orphan locked spinlock. llock : 2 lowner : 0. Task 1492714767 was the lastowner of this lock and timeslice of this task will be reset to release the orphan locked spinlock properly.
