Error received while migrating Materials: Error detected in source record with key value 'XYZ'.

XYZ - Corresponds to the Material ID in the file.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to the Business Configuration work center.
2. Go to the Overview view.
3. Find Migration of Materials.
4. Click Open.
5. Click Migrate materials using the migration tool.
6. Select the relevant Migration Unit.
7. Click Execute Migration - Execute Migration Step by Step.

The Log shows:

Service call failed; report an incident

A possible cause for this error is that the Business Residence used in the file doesn't belong to the Company ID used.

For example, you used Company ID XXX and Business Residence ID YYY, however the Business Residence ID YYY belongs to Company ID ZZZ.

During the migration the system will generate the links on Valuation using this information, since the system is not able to find said Business Residence to allocate on Valuation the system gives error.

XXX means Company ID.

YYY means Business Residence ID.

ZZZ means Company ID.

Check on Organizational Structure the correct Business Residence ID and adjust the file.

This can also be tested by manually creating a Material to check if the Business Residence ID will show for selection.
