3001985 - ODBC: Message 567 is happening for connections after an upgrade - SDK for SAP ASE

Symptom

After upgrading to a new version of ASE:

  • when a user connects to our database via ODBC (using MS Access or another tool)
  • they are now getting #(567).

    DIAG [ZZZZZ] [SAP][ASE ODBC Driver][Adaptive Server Enterprise]You must have the following role(s) to execute this command/procedure: 'sa_role'. Please contact a user with the appropriate role for help.
  • The permissions are set correctly
