Symptom
- The ALTER DATABASE ... LOG OFF command fails with Error 1295 followed by a stack trace:
Error: 1295, Severity: 26, State: 2
Unconditional lock request for table or page 20, dbid 4 was made while holding a latch.
- The stack trace include the following functions:
log_to_virt
altdb__upd_bcache
altdb__divide_diskmap
altdb__do_shrinkdb
- A similar ALTER DATABASE command using 'OFF' instead of 'LOG OFF', caused a spinlock order violation and crashed ASE:
Spinlock default data cache at address 0x0000000149189780 owned by 0x14942efe8, level = 0x1, prspinlocksheld = 0x1
ulpspinlock: spinlock order violation
Note: Samples of stack traces are available under Attachments.
