3003157 - Error on Revenue Recognition: Please create an incident, reason "An exception with the type CX_SY_CONVERSION_OVERFLOW occurred, but was neither handled locally, nordeclared in a RAISING clause"

When executing a Revenue Recognition Run there is an error:

Please create an incident, reason "An exception with the type CX_SY_CONVERSION_OVERFLOW occurred, but was neither handled locally, nordeclared in a RAISING clause"

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to the Cost and Revenue work center.
2. Go to the Revenue Recognition view.
3. Find the relevant Run ID.
4. Click View.
5. Go to the Messages tab.

Error: Please create an incident, reason "An exception with the type CX_SY_CONVERSION_OVERFLOW occurred, but was neither handled locally, nordeclared in a RAISING clause"

The error occurred during the Percentage of Completion calculation due to a negative value, POC is calculated by dividing the Total Actual Cost by the Estimated Cost. This is leading to a figure that is out of range when doing an assignment in the code.

The Actual Cost is usually only positive.

In such cases it is advised to adjust the Cost manually, this can be found also on the Help Document Revenue Recognition for Project Sales:

If you decide that the calculated value of the total estimated project cost is not suitable for the calculation of POC, you can enter a different value for the total estimated project cost in the Sales Document Items view with Edit Manual Revenue Recognition Data Edit Percentage of Completion.

This can be done with below steps:

1. Go to the Cost and Revenue work center.
2. Go to the Sales Document Items view.
3. Show Sales Order Items.
4. Search the relevant Sales Order.
5. Click Edit Manual Revenue Recognition Data -> Percentage of Completion.
