3004139 - Workflow is not triggered by the Approval Action

A workflow rule which is set up to be triggered every time, on every save (example: Task to be created every time (Always Create Activity Task) on every save) is not triggered when the approval action is carried out.

In our example, we are using the Opportunity BO, the same behaviour is true for other objects, too.

1. Go to the Administration work centre.
2. In the Approval Processes view: Create an approval process for opportunities.
3. In the Workflow Rule view: Create a workflow rule (WFR) for opportunities; for example for Task to be created every time (Always Create Activity Task) on every save. 
4. Go to the Sales work centre.
5. Go to the Opportunities view.
6. Create an opportunity.
7. Make any change and save.
8. RESULT: the WFR is triggered.
9. Trigger the approval.
10. Approve the opportunity.

RESULT: while you can see that the approval action is shown in the Changes, the WFR does not get triggered on this change.

The approval action does not trigger workflow rules.

This is the system working as designed.
