3009024 - Rep Agent down on Msg 2056: Incorrect syntax with '-' - SRS 16.0

Symptom

  • Rep Agent down in the Warm Standby setup.
  • ASE error log shows:

RepAgent(dbid): Error in passthru packet: 'distribute 4 0x0006962328dcb20f001e375f0003001c97ea00060000ac9b00a59a8300000000,6 0x0006962328ab5b6d00066e636d5f73716c5f7072646e636d applied owner =~"$dbo ~"<tablename.~!-rs_writetext append first last changed with log textlen =-1510018352 ~$=<column name>=~.!!9'.
RepAgent(dbid): Received the following error message from the Replication Server:
Msg 2056. Line 1, character 247: Incorrect syntax with '-'.
Error: 9261, Severity: 20, State: 0
RepAgent(dbid): This Rep Agent Thread is aborting due to an unrecoverable communications or Replication Server error
Rep Agent Thread for database 'dbname' (dbid = dbid) terminated abnormally with error. (major 92, minor 61)
