3011236 - 'Failed to open report "Internal Server Error" - report an incident.' Error in Material Inventories - Reconciliation Report

Error is thrown when running the Material Inventories - Reconciliation report: 'Failed to open report "Internal Server Error" - report an incident.'

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to the Business Analytics Work Center.
2. Go to the Design Reports View.
3. Search and open the report Material Inventories - Reconciliation (Report ID FININVU08).
4. Enter Company ABC, Set of Book GHI, Key Date DD.MM.YYYY (where ABC stands for Company ID and GHI stands for Set of Books ID)
5. Click Apply.

After loading for a while, error is thrown: 'Failed to open report "Internal Server Error" - report an incident.'

The error "Failed to open report "Internal Server Error" - report an incident" comes when there is large amount of data. By giving the key date, the report tries to fetch all the data from the beginning until the key date provided.

As a workaround, data can be fetched in the MDAV by providing the date intervals for which the data is wanted.

To fetch data from the MDAV:

1. Go to the Business Analytics Work Center.
2. Go to the Data Sources View.
3. Search for FININVU08.
4. Click Preview.
5. In the MDAV, enter the details: Company ABC, Set of Books GHI; Change the selection of Proposed Posting date from 'Equal to' to 'In Between' and enter the start and end date for which the details are wanted ('Key Date' in report is mapped to 'Proposed Posting Date' in the MDAV.).
6. Click Apply.

This should fetch the data between given periods.

Remark: the data cannot be previewed by the support account. The above steps are to be followed from your end with business user accounts.
