3011518 - SMP 3.1 installation error on Windows 2019

Symptom

  • SMP(SAP Mobile Platform) server installation process fails with the following error on the installer screen:

                Installation of SAP Mobile Platform 3.1 SP00 has completed, but with following error(s);

                ------------------------------
                Could not install SAP Mobile Platform Server service.
                Error(s) occurred during installation. See installation log(at
                C:\SAP\MobilePlatform3\InstallLogs\SMPInstall.<date>.log) for details.

  • The install log contains this error:

               "Error: loading: C:\SAP\MobilePlatform3\sapjvm_8\jre\bin\server\jvm.dll"
