3014564 - SPAD error: "Alias name must not be longer than 8 character"

Symptom

The error message below is displayed when trying to define an Output Device with Access Method S via transaction SPAD:

  • Alias name must not be longer than 8 character
    Message no. PO842

 

It happens for the field "Destination Host" when clicking on the button "Long Host Name" next to the field "Destination Host".
