3015758 - Proposed Quantity Not Possible. The Open Quantity Differs from The Sum of Serial Number Assignments

System throws the following error messages when proposing quantities during Post Goods Issue.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to Outbound Logistics Work Center.
2. Navigate to Delivery Proposals View.
3. Search for Delivery Request XXX and select it.
4. Choose Post Goods Issue button.
5. Select line item and choose Propose Quantities button, then the mentioned error would occur.

Due to no active Barcode selected in Business Configuration, the mentioned error occurs as expected.

For using Serial Numbers, it is necessary to enable Bar Code functionality in Business Configuration and to maintain the correct Application Identifier relevant for your Bar Code scanning.

Please follow below steps to resolve the issue.

1. Go to Business Configuration Work Center.
2. Navigate to Implementation Project view.
3. Select the relevant Implementation Project.
4. Choose Edit Project Scope button.
5. Go to Step 3: Scoping.
6. Expand element Manufacturing, Warehousing, and Logistics.
7. Expand element Task Management and Automation.
8. Make sure that the indicator of Automatic Identification is marked.
9. Go to Step 4: Questions.
10. Mark sure that the question "Do you plan to work with UCC/EAN 128 bar codes? " is scoped for element Automatic Identification.
11. Choose Next button and Accept Preselected Answers button.
12. Choose Open Activity List button.
13. In the Activity list, Show All Activities and search for Bar Code Type UCC/EAN 128.
14. Select it and choose Open button.
15. In the Bar Code Type UCC/EAN 128 screen, we recommend that you use the provided standard EAN128 Bar Code type which contains all relevant Application Identifiers including 21 for Serial Numbers.
16. Once you set the EAN128 Bar Code type active, you should be able to Post Goods Issue/ Receipt with Serial Number without the error.

After saving your changes, you may need to log out of the system for these to take effect.
