3016088 - Adapt UI - Resetting UI Field to it's original or default value or debugging Adapt UI

Symptom

  • As an administrator or SAPUI user, a field was modified using SAP Adapt UI to be renamed from "Field X" to "Field Y"
  • After renaming the Fiori or SAPUI5 Adapt UI field, none of the standard functionality works anymore against that field or newly named "Field Y"
    • Example:  If a standard field is named "Field X" then a User A modified the name to "Field Y" any functionality like Translation ceased to work - Why would "Field Y" not be translated even though the translation options were provided in the URL Parameter?
    • Why is this the case?
