3016671 - Local in-memory buffer in ASYNC ran full even though logshipping_async_buffer_size is set

Symptom

  • Alert ID 106 occurs frequently: 
    On host <host:port> local in-memory buffer in ASYNC replication mode ran full ### time(s)
  • You have increased the logshipping_async_buffer_size to (for example) 1GB for the affected service and set the value '1,073,741,824' (value in bytes).
  • The parameter change appears to have no affect, the alerts still occurs to the same frequency as before.
  • In addition, after the parameter change the trace of the affected service shows the following warning: 
    w sr_dataaccess    DisasterRecoveryConfiguration.cpp(00870) : Configured async replication buffer size too small: 16777216 -> setting to min size 16777216
