3018699 - SHADOW_IMPORT_INC: unexpected EOF after X bytes

Performing an Upgrade using SUM and stuck at phase MAIN_SHDIMP/SUBMOD_SHDIMP/SHADOW_IMPORT_INC. Checking log file ABCK012345.XYZ from <SUM directory>/abap/log, there is an error entry similar to the following:

AETW042 unexpected EOF after "XXXXXXXXX" bytes.
EETW000 Please contact the SAP support.

File ABCK012345.XYZ is related to data file R012345.XYZ.

When command "R3trans -l R012345.XYZ" is executed, the following result is displayed:

This is R3trans version X (release X - XX.XX.XX - XX:XX:XX).

Note: ABCK012345.XYZ is just an example following the transport logs naming pattern. ABC is the SID of the system in which the request was created, while XYZ is the SID of the system being upgraded.
