3019247 - Behavior of Contingent Worker notifications during rehire scenarios

Symptom

The following scenarios will show how the system will behave when it comes to the following rehire scenarios with Contingent Workers:

Environment

  • SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central
  • Contingent Workforce Management

Resolution

Scenario 1: From Employee with Indefinite Contract to Contingent Worker

When rehiring an employee with an indefinite contact to a Contingent Worker, the system will make a match based on first name, last name, and date of birth:

Once the match is accepted, a pop-up to notify the user that this person was a regular employee in the past:

Once this is accepted (click 'Yes' to hire as Contingent Worker), the system do the following:

  • The two People Profiles will be connected
  • There will not be a rehire, because adding a Contingent Worker is not really a hire scenario

 

Scenario 2: From Employee with Definite Contract to Contingent Worker

When rehiring an employee with a definite (or fixed-term) contact to a Contingent Worker, the system will make a match based on first name, last name, and date of birth:

Once the match is accepted, a pop-up to notify the user that this person was a regular employee in the past:

Once this is accepted (click 'Yes' to hire as Contingent Worker), the system do the following:

  • The two People Profiles will be connected
  • There will not be a rehire, because adding a Contingent Worker is not really a hire scenario

 

Scenario 3: From Contingent Worker to Employee with Indefinite Contract

When rehiring a Contingent Worker as an employee with an indefinite contact, the system will make a match based on first name, last name, and date of birth:

Once the match is accepted, a pop-up to notify the user that this person was a Contingent Worker in the past:

Once this is accepted (click 'Yes' to hire as an employee), the system do the following:

  • The two People Profiles will be connected
  • There will not be a rehire, because the Contingent Worker was never really hired as an employee

 

Scenario 4: From Contingent Worker to Employee with Definite Contract

When rehiring a Contingent Worker as an employee with an definite (or fixed-term) contact, the system will make a match based on first name, last name, and date of birth:

Once the match is accepted, there will be NO pop-up to notify you that this person was a Contingent Worker in the past, the system will do the following:

  • The two People Profiles will be connected
  • There will not be a rehire, because the Contingent Worker was never really hired as an employee
