3021035 - Repository in SAP Content Server 7.53 is offline, error "SQLConnect failed (DBPARAMETERS): [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Function sequence error, ec=0, rc=-1" occurred

Symptom

The repository is in SAP Content Server 7.53 on Windows server using MaxDB.

  • In CSADMIN, the content repository is in "offline" status with messge "SQLConnect failed (DBPARAMETERS): [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Function sequ"
  • In the content server trace, there are many errors like:
    [Thr xxxx] *** ERROR => CS:E Response::writeErrorResponse (pro/cs3/response.cpp:118) X-ServerType: SAP HTTP Content Server 7.53/726/N
    X-ErrorDescription: SQLConnect failed (DBPARAMETERS): [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Function sequence error, ec=0, rc=-1
