3022007 - Reverse/Change Depreciation from Right of Use (RoU) Asset

You would like to know how to reverse or change the depreciation of a RoU (Right of Use asset) created through a lease contract.

1. Go to Fixed Assets work center.
2. Go to Fixed Assets view.
3. Open the related RoU asset.

You see that the master data is not editable.

The changes in the RoU asset depend on what you want to achieve. The changes in the RoU asset are done via changes in the corresponding lease contract. To retire this asset, you need to cancel the lease contract. A change in the depreciation amounts can only happen via a change in the lease agreement. In this case, you need to create a new lease contract version. This is to ensure that the lease contract and the RoU asset are always in sync. The base for the depreciation calculation of a ROU asset is given by the lease contract cash flow, not by any depreciation calculation within the RoU asset.
