3022824 - MDS fails to connect to DB. Error 0x80004005/0 or 0x84020007

Symptom

  1. Creating, Unarchiving, Connecting to a repository fails
  2. DBMS connection test in MDM Console fails

The connection from MDM to DBMS using TLS 1.2.

 

  • In the MDS_Log errors similar to these appear:

In OLEDB_DB_Connection::Exec, got RC 0x84020007 , last SQL command was: CREATE TABLE A2i_Catalogs (Catalog_Tag NVARCHAR(128) NOT NULL, MainDB NVARCHAR(128) NOT NULL, OrigDB NVARCHAR(128) NOT NULL, ThumbDB NVARCHAR(128) NOT NULL, VariantDB NVARCHAR(128) NOT NULL, Status INT DEFAULT 0 NOT NULL, Description NVARCHAR(255) NULL)

  • In MDM Console popup error:

Database command excecution error, an SQL statement could not be executed.
