3023211 - Getting rid of pop up for Insecure Connections after setting parameter AllowInsecureConnections to "yes"

Symptom

When opening Analysis Office, customer receiveis pop up for Insecure Connections even after setting parameter AllowInsecureConnections to "yes".

Then you want to change EnableWarningForFailedSnc to "False" and this is grayed out.

Environment

  • SAP Analysis for Microsoft Office 2.8

Reproducing the Issue

Access Analysis Office and pop up for Insecure Connections comes up.

Cause

Access to change parameters is not being done with Admin rights.

Resolution

  1. Type "Analysis for Microsoft Office" in the search bar of your OS;
  2. Give a right click and choose "Run as Administrator";
  3. Go to "File" menu;
  4. Choose "Analysis";
  5. Click on "Customize Analysis";
  6. Go to "Technical Configuration";
  7. Search for "EnableWarningForFailedSnc";
  8. Untick this option;
  9. Click on "OK";
  10. Close and open Analysis Office again.
