Symptom
In customer project, a contingent worker has been staffed with "Billing Control Category" as "Non-billable".
However, when recording time in timesheet, the task is showing as "Billable".
Environment
- SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition
Reproducing the Issue
- Create a customer project.
- Staff a contingent worker with "Billing Control Category" as "Non-billable".
- Create Purchase Order with work package (WBS) assigned.
- In Manage my timesheet, record time and the task will show as "billable".
Cause
In case of Contingent workers, the billing Category depends upon the account assignment category of the linked purchase order.
If the account assignment category was set as P(Project) or U(Unknown), by default Billing Control Category is Billable.
When the contingent workers book time on the tasks, activity type is not mandatory for such tasks and hence the billing control category is always set to 'Billable'.
Resolution
By using account assignment type K(cost center) in the purchase order, it is considered from the activity type assigned to the work package task in customer projects.
I.e. For the type K, while booking the time, Activity type needs to be maintained. And this Activity type is usually the planned role in the project where the billing category is also maintained and hence, the same is considered.
