3023528 - SMP admin cockpit shows server nodes as offline despite being online

Symptom

  • An SMP administrator checks the server availability in the Cluster pane in the administrator cockpit.  One or more nodes show as 'offline' even though they are up and running.
  • The administrator can log into an 'offline' node directly and then it shows as online.
  • End users are executing applications through the nodes that are labeled as offline.
  • This error may appear in the SMP server log:

    2021 02 04 11:26:34#+00#WARN#com.sap.mobile.platform.server.cluster.management.cluster.ClusterCommunications##ziegero#http-bio-8083-exec-5####d72d2b82-fefc-4895-8bc0-0f0050449a55####timed-out waiting for messages from cluster.  Expected 2 messages and received 1
