3027414 - Load database fails with "The database page size of X bytes obtained from ASE is different from the database page size of Y bytes read from the dump header" - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • Using a database dump from another ASE server
  • The load of that dump fails with these messages sent to client and Backup Server log
  • The values in the message can be any combination of 2K (2048) , 4K (4096), 8K (8192) or 16K (16384) page sizes that ASE can have:

    Backup Server: 4.177.2.1: The database page size of 2048 bytes obtained from ASE is different from the database page size of 8192 bytes read from the dump header. The LOAD session must exit.
    Backup Server: 1.14.2.2:   Unrecoverable I/O or volume error. This DUMP or LOAD session must exit.
    Backup Server: 6.32.2.3:  /dump_dir/db_dump_file.dmp: volume not valid or not requested ...
