3030116 - Deprecation of G/L account Interest scale

From 2105 Job template "G/L Account Interest Scale" in Schedule General Ledger Jobs app will have Deprecated added into job name :   (G/L Account Interest Scale (Deprecated))

App “Run Balance Interest Calculation” will have Deprecated added in title.

Deprecation

The App is marked for deprecation from release 2105. The deprecation of app is in CE2111.  There is interest scale app in Account receivable role.

Note there are advantages to post the loans not as pure G/L postings, but to AP/AR accounts, i.e. post with a business partner information in the journal entry.

This would enable follow-up processes like discounting of long-term receivables and posting of impairment for example. Handling loans with pure G/L postings might not fulfill today's accounting standards, at least not out-of-the box. Manual workarounds might be needed in the future.

That's why there is no successor app available that would replace the old app G/L Account Interest Scale.

The recommendation is to switch to AP/AR-based loan handling

As alternative there are also comprehensive functions available in SAP Treasury & Risk Management for handling loans.
