3030469 - MM01 - Error: Batch management requirement cannot be changed - Message M3530

Symptom

In MM01 transaction user created a new material and received the following error message
after flagging 'Batch Management' checkbox in 'Sales: General/Plant' view:
Batch management requirement cannot be changed; choose "Display errors" - Message no. M3530
The batch management requirement cannot be changed for the following reasons:
Batch management may not be defined for value-only materials."
