3030488 - <br>Error Activating Communication Scenario in SAP Cloud Application Studio <br><br>

Symptom


  • You encounter errors when attempting to activate the Communication Scenario file or the entire solution.
  • Error message: Error saving MCPG for XYZ.csd, where XYZ represents the file path of the Communication Scenario file.
  • Error message: Instance with the same key already exists

Environment


  • SAP Cloud Application Studio
  • SAP Cloud for Customer Addins
  • SAP Business ByDesign
  • ByDesign Studio Web Services

Reproducing the Issue


  1. Log in to MS Visual Studio.
  2. Open the solution.
  3. Navigate to the reported Communication Scenario.
  4. Right
  • click and select Activate.
  1. Observe the error message.

Cause


  • Services with identical names have been selected in the Communication Scenario (.CSD) file.
  • One service is in the Standard Inbound/Outbound Services section, and the other is in the Custom Inbound/Outbound Services section.
  • A custom service was created with the same name as a standard service in the solution.

Resolution


  1. Deselect one of the services in the Communication Scenario (.CSD) file.
  2. Alternatively, re
  • create the custom WSID with a name different from the standard service name.
  1. This allows you to select both the standard and custom services in the same CSD file.
