Symptom
This article describes the steps on how to address Blank Error Messages when Resetting Ageny Password. Please note that the actual error is seen on the backend only accessible to Support, hence your blank error message may not have the same error (on the backend) as the one described in this article.

Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management
Reproducing the Issue
Steps to Reproduce:
1. In Admin Center > Setup Agency Access > Reset Password (for the user).
2. Click on the Password Recovery link (from the email).
3. Enter New Password.
4. You will get an empty error on the UI.
5. In the backend (Splunk Logs) Support will see the error: COGeneralForbiddenException: Recruiting Agency FunctionImport/Password Permission is not enabled.
Resolution
The agency default user, which is hard-coded in the backend, (TECHNICAL_USER_RCMAGENCY_*****) is not being read by the system. Disabling and Re-enabling 'Manage Recruiting Settings > Recruiting Agency Access' should be able to address the issue.
Note: To save the setting, it is recommended to login as an admin user who has full admin permissions. If the user is lack of permissions, the feature cannot be enabled completely and it will lead to the error.
Both Option 1 and Option 2 below are effective solutions. Please try Option 2 if Option 1 has no effect.
Option 1
- Navigate to Admin Center > Manage Recruiting Settings > Agency Portal
- Confirm that 'Recruiting Agency Access' has been checked and click Save directly
- Confirm that it displays the successful message “Agency Portal settings saved successfully”. ※If it does not display the message, the user may be lack of permissions.
Option 2
- Navigate to Admin Center > Manage Recruiting Settings > Agency Portal
- Disable 'Recruiting Agency Access' and click Save
- Go to Admin Center > OData API Metadata Refresh And Export
- Click Refresh
- Log out of the instance
- Log back in to the instance
- Admin Center > Manage Recruiting Settings > Agency Portal
- Enable 'Recruiting Agency Access' and click Save
- Confirm that it displays the successful message “Agency Portal settings saved successfully”. ※If it does not display the message, the user may be lack of permissions.
- Admin Center > OData API Metadata Refresh And Export
- Click Refresh
