3032633 - Problem loading java config file bsclogin.conf and how to troubleshoot

Symptom

  • Configured manual AD authentication per KBA 2629070 or other doc and failed with combination of FWM 00006 and FWM 00005 errors
  • Logging generated by bsclogin.conf debug=true not present in tomcat stdout.log
  • Despite correct configuration in krb5 and successful kinit AD auth still fails in BI launchpad and CMC see KBA 1245178 for troubleshooting
  • Users can login to client tools fine (indicating service account is ok) but unable to access through tomcat (with above errors)
  • Despite debug=true in the bsclogin.conf and -Dsun.security.krb5.debug=true no kerberos tracing appeared in the logs
  • This may be seen in web/app or vintela logs "cause:java.lang.SecurityException: java.io.IOException: c:\windows\bscLogin.conf  (No such file or directory)"
