3033351 - How is address field of PO at item level filled in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition?

Symptom

The basic system logic behind address field of item level filling is not clear.
 Create new Purchase order with plant data and storage location, address field not filled in.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Create Purchase Order with app 'Create Purchase Order - advanced'
  2. Fill in all required fields, including plant, and as optional storage location too
  3. Save the document
  4. Check address field on Delivery Address tab

Resolution

The basic system behaviour is:

  • Create a purchase order, fill in storage location and plant also, then after saving the address field will be filled out with the storage location's address number.
  • But fill out only plant, then address will be filled out with the plant's address number.
  • Create a new PO, then address will be filled in only after saving the document, but change an existing document (for example changing storage location), new address value will already displayed on delivery address tab.
  • Also type manually an existing address number into ADRN2 field. The manual activity will always overwrite the automatically determined address numbers.
  • Ensure the Material master has the desired Storage location linked to respective Plant to have them fetched automatically.
