3035845 - How the List Price is Determined in a Follow-Up Sales Order From a Contract.

Symptom

With Release 2102 the system behavior on how the List Price is determined in a Follow-Up Sales Order from a Contract has been changed.

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign

Cause

The reason why the system behavior was changed with 2102 is the following:

If a Price Agreement is maintained in a contract it is expected that the Price Agreement contains the contractual agreed price with the end customer (Account) of the Contract. This is the purpose of the feature Price Agreement. Therefore, any changes that deviate from a price maintained in the Price List need to be maintained in the contract via the Price Agreement. If no Price Agreement is maintained the List Price in the Follow-Up Sales Order will always be newly determined from the Price List. Hence, if no price for the Product is maintained in the Price List and not Price Agreement was maintained it the Contract, no valid List Price can be determined.

However, since this also had a affect on the Freight calculations we have decided to revert the System behaviour with 2105 HFC 03.

Resolution

System behavior before 2102:

  • If a Product was maintained in a contract and the price was determined via the Price List:
If a Sales Order was created as a follow up document of the contract the List Price was copied from the Contract.

  • If a Product was maintained in a contract and the price was determined via the Price List but then manually changed:
If a Sales Order was created as a follow up document of the contract the List Price was copied from the Contract.

  • If a Product was maintained in a contract and the price was determined via the Price List and a price agreement was maintained for the List Price:
If a Sales Order was created as a follow up document of the contract the List Price was copied from the List Price on the Item and not from the Price Agreement.

  • If a Product was maintained in a contract and the price was maintained manually:
If a Sales Order was created as a follow up document of the contract the List Price was copied from the Contract.

  • If a Product was maintained in a contract and the price was determined via the Price List, then manually changed and a price agreement was maintained for the List Price as well:
If a Sales Order was created as a follow up document of the contract the List Price was copied from the manual change of the List Price and not from the Price Agreement.

System behavior from 2102 to 2105 HFC 03:

  • If a Product was maintained in a contract and the price was determined via the Price List:
If a Sales Order is created as a follow up document of the contract the List Price is newly determined from the Price List.

  • If a Product was maintained in a contract and the price was determined via the Price List but then manually changed:
If a Sales Order is created as a follow up document of the contract the List Price is newly determined from the Price List and the manual changes are not taken over.

  • If a Product was maintained in a contract and the price was determined via the Price List and a price agreement was maintained for the List Price:
If a Sales Order is created as a follow up document of the contract the List Price is determined from the Price Agreement of the Contract.

  • If a Product was maintained in a contract and the price was maintained manually:
If a Sales Order is created as a follow up document of the contract the List Price cannot be determined and has to be maintained manually in the Sales Order.

  • If a Product was maintained in a contract and the price was determined via the Price List, then manually changed and a price agreement was maintained for the List Price as well:
If a Sales Order is created as a follow up document of the contract the List Price was copied from the Price Agreement.

System behaviour from 2105 HFC 03 onwards:

  • If a Product was maintained in a contract and the price was determined via the Price List:
If a Sales Order was created as a follow up document of the contract the List Price was copied from the Contract.

  • If a Product was maintained in a contract and the price was determined via the Price List but then manually changed:
If a Sales Order was created as a follow up document of the contract the List Price was copied from the Contract.

  • If a Product was maintained in a contract and the price was determined via the Price List and a price agreement was maintained for the List Price:
If a Sales Order was created as a follow up document of the contract the List Price was copied from the Price Agreement.

Please Note:

Any price maintained in Price Agreements in the Contract would have highest precedence among all standard price lists.

If the Sales Order is created manually (e.g. as a copy) and not as a follow up document from a Contract or the Create with Reference function, and an Item is added manually the List Price is determined via the Price List. When the item is then referenced to a contract item via the Contract Item ID value help in the Items tab, the List Price will not be updated with the List Price from the Contract.
