3035881 - Recovery cannot restore the size for '16K' pool in 'default data cache' during upgrading - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • While upgrading, you may see the following messages in ASE errorlog.

Database '<user database name>' is now online.
Recovery has restored the value of 'local async prefetch limit' for '16K' pool in 'default data cache' from '80' to 'DEFAULT'.
Recovery has restored the value of 'local async prefetch limit' for '2K' pool in 'default data cache' from '80' to 'DEFAULT'.
background task error 18143: The source pool (2K buffers, total size 46080) is not large enough to satisfy the request to move 71680Kb of memory.
Recovery cannot restore the size for '16K' pool in 'default data cache'. The original pool size is 250.0000m. To fix this, run sp_poolconfig to configure the pool size back to the original value.
Recovery complete.

  • After upgrading, you may notice a smaller size for the '16K' pool in 'default data cache' than before upgrading.
