3036027 - Two-Factor Authentication fails to initialize with error "409038 Missing DeviceId" in SAP Customer Data Cloud's Web SDK

Symptom

  • When a user logs in and requires Two Factor Authentication (TFA) as enforced by the site's Risk Based Authentication (RBA) policies, the TFA screen does not appear.
  • An internal error "409038 Missing DeviceId" is observed on the internal accounts.tfa.initTFA API request invoked by the Web SDK.
