3036521 - Email notifications sent to business email of old employment while performing rehire - Onboarding

Symptom

In the rehire scenario the emails are sent to Business email address of the Old employment because the Isprimary field is set to yes for the business email address in the system. This has to be changes to No during the New hire data review(NHDR) step. But in most of the customer instances NHDR step is not configured and its not possible to change the Isprimary flag of Business mail address.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Rehire a candidate
  2. After the 2nd rehire check the Welcome email is sent to the Business mail Id of the employee from old     employment. (Note: This issue occurs only when there is No NHDR step configured in the PVM and the Isprimary flag remains as yes for the business email Id of the candidate which could not be changed to No during the NHDR step)
  3. Due to this the candidate cannot login

Cause

The NHDR step is not configured in the Process variant manager

Resolution

Please perform these actions before accepting the candidate as a rehire. Suggested steps if no NHDR step in the onboarding workflow.

First Solution:

  1. Access Employee Profile of the terminated user and edit the Contact Information section.
  2. Add the personal email-address and mark it as primary.

On acceptance as rehire from Onboarding 2.0, all communication to the candidate is through his personal email-address that is saved as primary.

Second solution:

Delete the business email-address from the terminated user’s record before rehiring the candidate from Onboarding 2.0

There is an Enhancement Request created for this scenario, we encourage you to vote on it if you believe this is a potential Product Enhancement - 279556 Rehire welcome user mail NOT send to Personal Email if Business Email in inactive EC profile
