3037045 - Validation Error You must correct the following error(s) before proceeding: "The current item cannot be added to any libraries because it does not have a SKU"

Symptom

When a new item is created, it cannot be added to a library. "Available in Library" is set to "No" and "Library SKU" is not available in the item either.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Create a new item > Fill out required details >
  2. When the item is created, go to the "Library" tab >
  3. Click the icon "+" and select a library to be added >
  4. The error message is displayed.

Cause

Before item creation, changes in the FINANCIAL configuration were made and the setting "autoCreateMasterInventory" was changed to "false".

Resolution

  1. Learning Administration >
  2. System Administration >
  3. Configuration >
  4. System Configuration >
  5. FINANCIAL >
  6. Find the "autoCreateMasterInventory" setting and change it to "true" > Apply Changes.

Please keep in mind that this change will only affect the entities created after the change. This means that the setting is not applied retroactively.
