Symptom
You have finished the production process for the product ABC (ABC represents the ID of the product) and you expect its status to be set to "Inspection" or "Restricted" after the production's quality confirmation. For that purpose you have not checked the parameter "Do not Categorize tock as Inspection Stock" in the respective Inspection Plan.
However, the finished product ABC does not have the status "Inspection" or "Restricted" in the Stock Overview.
Environment
SAP Business ByDesign
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to the work centre Quality Control.
- Select the view Inspections.
- Find the respective Inspection's ID.
Result: You will see that the Inspection is in status Results Recorded and the production process is completed.
- Now go to the work centre Physical Inventory and select the common task Stock Overview.
- Search for the product ABC.
- Click the button Go.
Result: The product does not have the "Restricted" or "Inspection" indicator checked.
Cause
The Inspection stock option in the rule of the Inspection Plan is valid only for the Inbound process and not for Production.
It is not possible for the standard Production Confirmation to mark the stock as under Inspection upon confirmation of the Production Task as the Inspection indicator is not even enabled on the Production Confirmation business object.
Resolution
This is the expected behavior of the system.
You may consider creating a PDI add-on which posts a Goods and Activity Confirmation of type Goods Movement to mark the inventory as "Inspection".
