Symptom
You have created an external price element and mapped it to a pricing procedure. However you see that this is not shown in the UI until a product is added in the sales document.
Environment
SAP Cloud for Customer
Reproducing the Issue
Prerequisites: You have labeled an external price element (say PPE1, where PPE1 represents the ID of Product Price Element 1) and assigned it to a pricing procedure (say ZABC, where ZABC represents the ID of the external pricing procedure)
In this case, we will consider sales order to reproduce the scenario
- Go to Sales workcenter
- Go to Sales view
- Select show all and find for EFG (EFG represents the name of the sales order)
- Go to Products facet
You expect that the pricing element created is also shown in the product list pane as you have also set the visibility property as true.
Cause
You can assign a price element to pricing procedure and also without a pricing procedure.
If you add an entry without an assignment to a pricing procedure, you can directly edit the price element in the sales document without firstly triggering action request pricing
Resolution
If you want the external pricing element to be visible and editable even before requesting pricing, you can follow the steps below
- Go to Business Configuration workcenter
- Go to Overview view
- Select show all and find for External Pricing
- Select Assignments of External Price Elements
- Select Add Row
- Enter PPE1 as price element and leave the pricing procedure empty
- Select Save
This will enable the pricing element PPE1 to be visible and editable in the product list pane, even before pricing is triggered.
