3040956 - Fixed Asset Acquisition Posting Error: Posting date DD.MM.YYYY must be in fiscal year AAAA for fixed asset BBB

A manual Fixed Asset posting of type Acquisition is created. When trying to post, the error: "Posting date DD.MM.YYYY must be in fiscal year AAAA for fixed asset BBB" appears.

(DD.MM.YYYY stands for Posting Date, AAAA for Different Fiscal Year from Posting Date and BBB for Fixed Asset ID)

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to the Fixed Assets work center.
2. Go to the Fixed Assets view.
3. Select Fixed Asset BBB.
4. Click Manual Postings Manual - Acquisition.
5. Input Posting Date DD.MM.YYYY.
6. Add remaining needed data.
7. Click Post.

The error 'Posting date DD.MM.YYYY must be in fiscal year AAAA for fixed asset BBB' appears.

The Capitalization Date of the Fixed Asset is in a fiscal year after the fiscal year of the Posting Date.

If the posting needs to be done on the Date DD.MM.YYYY, the Capitalization Date needs to be set to this Date as well.

1. Go to the Fixed Assets work center.
2. Go to the Fixed Assets view.
3. Select Fixed Asset BBB.
4. Click Edit - Master Data.
5. Go to the Life Cycle Data tab.
6. Change the Capitalization Date to DD.MM.YYYY.
7. Press Save.

This time, no error will be raised when posting the acquisition.
