3042159 - Balances still exist error happens when changing the status of the customer project into "Closed"

Symptom

In Plan Customer Projects App, when setting status to "Closed" and save, error "Balances still exist for event-based revenue recognition for WBS xxxx" occurs.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

In Plan Customer Projects App, set status to "Closed" and save.

Cause

Possible reasons:

  1. You have done manual adjustments on one of the items for the project. Although the balance on project level is OK, the error may still occur. It's necessary to ensure that the balance is OK on each billing element of the project.
  2. There is balance in currency other than company code currency or balance exists in different ledger. You can check the balance with app Inspect Revenue Recognition Postings.

Resolution

  1. Please first solve the manual adjustments and rerun the period-end closing activity to get the balance to 0.
  2. Use app Event-based Revenue Recognition - Projects - Set Parameters to choose the relevant ledger. Make real run by clicking Revalue button.
