3042401 - 'socket is not established' error between Cloud Integration and SFTP server

Symptom

During the connection from SAP Cloud Integration to SFTP server, the following error occurs:

  • org.apache.camel.component.file.GenericFileOperationFailedException: Cannot connect to sftp://<URL>:22, cause: com.jcraft.jsch.JSchException: timeout: socket is not established
  • org.apache.camel.component.file.GenericFileOperationFailedException: Cannot connect to sap-sftp://<URL>:22, cause: com.jcraft.jsch.JSchException: timeout: socket is not established

Note: The error can happen during the message processing (shown above) or during connectivity test.
