3042508 - Socket closed error when connecting to HANA Cloud - Data Services

Symptom

  • Intermittent error when running jobs that connect to HANA cloud.
  • ODBC call <SQLDriverConnect> to connect database <> failed with error: <[SAP AG][LIBODBCHDB DLL][HDBODBC] Communication link failure;-10709 Connection failed (RTE:[89008] Socket closed by peer (hanacloudserver:port))>. Use the ODBCDriverSelector (Windows) or DSConnectionManager.sh (UNIX) utility in LINK_DIR/bin to configure the correct version of the driver
  • Random errors on jobs connecting to HANA cloud instances.
