3042992 - Cost Center / Functional Area is not balanced after period end closing

After period end closing, you find there is balance for certain Cost Center / Functional Area. It's not clear what is the cause.

There are still orders not settled. It might because the TECO status was set to the next period. The settlement has to be done in the next period.

Find the affected Order/Material

The effective way to check whether production accounts are balanced or not, is to check balance by functional area.

• Open App Journal Entry Analyzer.
• Input company code, fiscal year and period.
• Only put "Functional Area" in Rows. Normally the production functional area should be YB20.

If the balance for YB20 is zero, it means that the accounts for production should be balanced.
If there is balance, you can release the field "Order ID" and check for which exact order is with balance.
Afterwards, you could make analysis on the specific order.

Balance between currencies

Normally the activity type revaluation will only ensure the global currency is balanced.
If you are using different currencies for global and company code currency, there might be balance in company code currency.
One more thing to consider is that you should make sure there is no "Not Distributed/Not Allocated" value after material ledger closing.
You can check the same via app Material Value Flow Monitor.

If you maintain manual activity prices

• You need to maintain the correct manual activity price with correct price unit and in the correct expected currency.
• In Edit Actual Costing Run, make sure you set option "Process again".
• To solve the Not Distributed value in global currency, you should tick "No stock coverage check" in Settlement step of Edit Actual Costing Run.
