• Software Update Manager fails in phase MAIN_SHDIMP/SUBMOD_SHD2_RUN/START_SHDI_SHD2 with below error in SAPupConsole.log:

Severe error(s) occurred in phase MAIN_SHDIMP/SUBMOD_SHD2_RUN/START_SHDI_SHD2!

Last error code set:
Shadow instance
couldn't be started, check 'START_SHDI_SHD2.LOG' and 'DEVTRACE.LOG': Action START failed for SAPN<sid>/<nr> ('Error
in call_upg_is_shadow_system.').

To analyze errors during the start of the shadow instance, check the
'START_SHDI_SHD2.LOG' and 'DEVTRACE.LOG' files in directory
'D:\usr\sap\SUM\abap\log'.

Repeat the phase until the shadow instance is started and you can log on to
instance number <nr>.

• In START_SHDI_SHD2.SAV log, below error can be found:

2EETQ360 RFC of "UPG_IS_SHADOW_SYSTEM" failed:
2EETQ361 code/exception : 3
2EETQ362 key : DBSQL_UNKNOWN_CONNECTION
