Symptom
Users experience the following issues after Story implementation:
- The IPS synchronization from SAP SuccessFactors to SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) fails with the error:
- error=com.sap.cloud.ips.connectors.impl.EntityNotFoundException: No user found from...
- When attempting to create a Story report in Report Center, the screen remains blank and the report builder does not load.
Environment
- SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite
- Analytics & Reporting (Ad Hoc, YouCalc, ORD)
- Story Reports
- Analytics & Reporting (Ad Hoc, YouCalc, ORD)
Reproducing the Issue
This issue typically occurs after a Story upgrade, even when all implementation steps (e.g., user sync, permission assignment) have been completed.
- Log in to SAP SuccessFactors
- Navigate to Report Center
- Click the New button
- Select Report Story
- Unable to open the tool
Cause
The issue is caused by inconsistent or duplicate email addresses for users between SAP SuccessFactors (BizX) and SAC. Common scenarios include:
- Users with placeholder emails like dummy@successfactors.com
- Duplicate email addresses already assigned to other users in SAC
Resolution
To resolve the issue:
- Ensure that each user has a unique and valid email address in SAP SuccessFactors.
- Do not use placeholder or duplicate emails across users.
- After correcting the email in SF, re-run the IPS user sync to update IAS and SAC.
Refer to the following KBAs for detailed guidance:
- KBA 2418513 - It seems your profile is not configured for this system message after logging into SAP Analytics Cloud.
- KBA 2907671 - EntityNotFoundException: No user found from - "Make sure that all users have unique email address in the source system and also that no email is reused as userName."
- 2969829 - Story/IAS - User Sync getting failed due to missing or duplicate email Ids in SuccessFactors
NOTE:
- If the issue persists for specific users after following the above steps, the SAC user base may be corrupted. This can result from previous IPS misconfigurations or source/target system resets. In such cases, raise a support ticket and provide the PersonGUID and email address of the affected user.
- For email addresses generated via transformation logic, you can extract the actual email from the IPS error log: content={"active":true,"emails":[{"primary":true,"value":"user@domain.com"}]
